Andreas Hoerni trat mit Musikern wie Adrian Mears, Isla Eckiger, Robi Lakatosh, Mark Soskin, David Friesen und Malcolm Braff auf. Nebst seiner Aktivität im Jazzbereich befasste er sich intensiv mit westafrikanischer Folklore, wodurch es zur Zusammenarbeit mit zahlreichen westafrikanischen Musikern wie Magatte Ndiaye, Louis César Ewande, u.v.a. kam. Darüber hinaus hatte er stets eine Affinität für polyrhythmische Themen und ungerade Metren. In seinen Kompositionen verschmelzen all diese Einflüsse zu einer neuen Form, deren musikalischer Fokus auf Groove und Interaktion liegt.
